SHOTOKAN KARATE

Gichin Funakoshi was the founder of Shotokan karate-do, perhaps the most widely known style of karate, and is known as a "father of modern karate"Gichin Funakoshi was born in Shuri, Okinawa in 1868. As a boy, he was trained by two famous masters of that time.

Kobudo

In modern Okinawan Karate practice, Kobudo is often an integral part of training. The legacy of Kobudo as a part of Karate training stems from the era when Okinawans needed to augment their empty-hand techniques in defense against weapon-wielding attackers.

What is karate?

Karate is a form of martial arts that involves a variety of fighting and defence techniques like strikes, blocks, evasions and throws.punches, kicks and blocks but all done against an opponent Historically, and in some modern styles, grappling, throws, joint locks, restraints and vital-point strikes are also taught.

sport karate emphasizes exercise and competition.we know that karate is an activity that involves physical exertion and skill, and sees individuals or teams competing against one another for entertainment. Or in the case of Daniel LaRusso, the All-Valley Under 18 Karate Championship trophy. Yes, karate is a sport!

As the most widely practiced style, Shotokan is considered a traditional and influential form of karate do.Shotokan Karate is hands-down the most popular style of Karate in the world. It comes from Tokyo and was taught by Master Gichin Funakoshi, the Okinawan who is generally recognized as the founder of modern Karate.
